Prof. Severin Schink becomes new CeNS member
Dr. Severin Schink joins CeNS as a biophysicist whose work bridges quantitative physics, microbiology, and systems biology. After completing his PhD in Physics at TU Munich and UC San Diego, he spent five years at Harvard Medical School investigating microbial stress responses and cell death, including leading a major industry collaboration on antibiotic development.
He brings extensive interdisciplinary experience, from high-impact biophysical research to strategic consulting in the life-science industry. Since 2025, he has been serving as W2 Professor (Vertretung) for Cellular Biophysics at LMU, where he is establishing a new research program on microbial stress, cell death, and synthetic community design.
