The PhD Café is a gathering that takes place every other month, usually on a Thursday evening, in various seminar rooms at LMU or other locations. Organized by the CeNS Student Representatives in collaboration with PhD students from IMPRS-QST and MCQST, it provides a friendly and informal space for students to discuss challenges they face during their PhD. With a mix of formats, including open discussions and invited speakers, the PhD Café fosters community, support, and shared experiences.
This time, we're planning an outdoor session, taking a bit of time to slow down, get some fresh air, and connect in a more relaxed setting.
The IMPRS & MCQST Coordinator Sonya will facilitate this session. We'll start with a short, simple mindfulness exercise to arrive and clear our heads. After that, we'll move into small groups, where everyone gets space to share what's currently on their mind relating to their PhD—something challenging, unclear, or just a bit stuck. The focus here will be on listening and supporting each other through open, thoughtful questions.
